I have seen this before what happens was the buffalo fell into a hot spring and the rangers got it out and it bolted before they could asses the wounds and this guy got like 15 pictures of this bear chasing it but it did not catch it the rangers put it out of it's misery
As Powell said earlier this was taken in Yellowstone, the buffalo had ended up in a hot spring somehow and later chased by the bear, I have the rest of the photos in my email.
