A deer photographed with a massive arrow through its face in Rockaway Township last week has managed to evade capture and medical help despite efforts by the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife and a local woman who described the animal as appearing calm and surprisingly OK.

Susan Darrah, who was the first to spot and photograph the deer in her backyard on Friday, has been on round-the-clock deer watch in hope of seeing it again. The last sighting was on Saturday.
