Many years ago in the early 1800's, a man had a Hunting Ranch in the Appalachian Mountains. He stocked it with Wild Boar that where imported from Russia. After he died, his Ranch was left unattended and ran down. The Boar escaped from the Ranch and has been running wild all over North Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolina's and into Kentucky and Virginia. That's how the Russian Wild Boar came to be In the Appalachian's. Don't know the history on this beast though.
I would use a Marlin 45-70 to hunt this beast, it's a good pack rifle with a lot of punch. The 30-30 would tick it off unless you had good shot placement.
