Have you ever seen anything like this? This was killed in Louisiana this year by our friends at SBO. I do not blame them at all for taking out this deer. I feel deer like this should be taken out of the heard to keep a clean gene pool.

That's usually a result of twin malformation. When the doe is pregnant, the egg may try to split to form twins. It's very rare that it fails to divide all the way. That's probably the case here. Instead of forming two individual deer, the larger half of the cell took over the smaller half, preventing the twin's development by taking its physical developments for itself, as additional accessories.
