A lion had to be sedated so batteries could be changed in collar and data samples taken. The dart shot didn't fully sedate the lion and had no way to know how much to add, so handcuffs and belts were used to control the cats feet so the proceedures could be performed without injury to biologist. Never used darts and handcuffs on cougars. I usually go with flowers and chocolates.
