Surprisingly not very long. I was told that Permit are one of the hardest fighting fish in the ocean, and that it would be an absolute blast catching one. I pitched the crab to this one after spotting a pair of them close to the boat, and after it hit, it was in the boat in under a minute with pretty light tackle. Not much of a fight. Now the goliath groupers we caught, and didn't catch, were a different story.

That is one beautiful Permit. Looks like you know all the honey holes down there in Marco Island. You def have caught some really nice fish.
