how early do uall start rattling

we have a lot of 2 points and we hardly have any big bucks that are 3 points or better and if we shot some 2 points it would allow the big ones to come out and we could have more and make the next season ...

Rifle, shotgun, bow, rod? Personally I use a 45 lb recurve for deer and an old Ithaca shotgun for birds.
