I am 23 years old, and was born and raised in Southeastern Pennsylvania, where I still reside today. My passion for hunting began at a very early age, and began to blossom around age 10 when I harvested my first smallish whitetail buck. At age 13, I was given my first compound bow, and killed two more bucks in the same year, one of which would be my first Pope and Young class animal. My passion turned from loving hunting in general into an archery obsession, and since that time I have killed over 140 big game animals with stick and string, including over 100 whitetails. Several of those animals, and 7 of the whitetails, would qualify for the Pope and Young Record Books. At age 18, I took another step forward and became an archery technician at the worlds’ largest archery only supplier. I spent the better part of 3 years there, solely to engorge myself on everything archery related. This also spurred the start of my competitive archery career, and led to a win at the IBO Outdoor World Championships, state championships in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, 3 Keystone National Championships, and an Indoor National Championship.
My newest obsession is the sport of filming hunts, as well as fueling the involvement of both youth and female hunters in our sport. I mentor several youth and female hunters on an annual basis, and have been very successful with christening new hunters over the past few years. For me, there is nothing like the look on the face of a young hunters' first success. My aspirations are to one day run youth outdoor education camps, as well as operate a television show featuring strictly youth and female hunters. Every year there are less and less new hunters, and it is imperative that we share the glory of the outdoors with future generations to preserve our sport and heritage.
I started an archery related blog last year, where I periodically write short posts as well as long informative articles on everything in the archery world. Please be sure to check it out at http://archeryguide.net and share it with your buddies. I am sharing all of my hunting knowledge with you there. You can of course drop the posts here on HuntDrop as well.
