Your thoughts on Deer Caine?
Heard a few good things about Deer Caine, was wondering what everyone else thinks. I bought a bag of the powder, was wondering if a guy could mix it a little lighter, say a bag to 8 or 10 gallons of water rather than the 5 gallons they say on the bag. You would get more bang for your buck... so to speak lol.

You probably could, My son and I mixed it 3/4 bag to 5 gal. and it worked fine. just don't make the mistake we did, We put it in our jeep trail so we could watch it and about two weeks later there was a hole so big we almost had to drive around it! after a rain it made a great watering hole for all the other animals though,We saw deer, turkeys, squirrels, coyotes, songbirds, and even a snake drinking out of that hole.the same happened when we mixed the last 1/4 bag w/ 2 gal. of water only it took a lot longer for the deer to find it.Jay Rink
Thanks Tim. I've heard that they'll root up a helluva hole once they get onto it. I'll give her a go.John Clark
I took a bag about 7 years ago and poured it onto an old rotten stump about 2 feet around and just let the rain wash it into the roots and down into the soil. They are STILL digging in it and I have not added any for 5 years! I personally love the stuff and have always seen it bring many deer in. There is now no stump, but instead there is a hole in the ground 3 1/2 feet across and 2 feet deep, it's really amazing stuff.Jay Rink
That does sound like amazing stuff. I'm wondering, if I put it out this weekend, is it getting too late in the year for them to find and get hooked on it? Considering I am up in Canada?Derek Taussig
I bought some today and put it out. Hadn't really planned on it but since it was on sale when I was buying my corn I figured it wouldn't hurt. Excited to see the results!Eric Risdal
I have used it, filling 10 or more milk jugs off of a single bag. I pour some in, add water, shake, and then pour on a stump. I have better luck this way, than pouring out the whole bag, and then trying to dilute on site. The Bulls love it!
