As a Gun Sales man, I can honestly say both are fine weapons. One better then the other...not so much. The savage is a few dollars less expensive, but the question should be what feels better in your hands, and only you can answer that.
I have a .22 lr marlin that I've had since I was about five and it's an amazing shooter. I also have a .22 mag savage that's a tack driver. The only thing I'll say is to me the bolt on the savage feels cheaply made it's sloppy in the receiver but still sub half moa you can't beat that.
