using salt to tan hides?

hey yall, i have shot some squirrels and salted the hides for a week now, whats my next step? i have heard smoking them and i have heard mineral oil, and that they are just fine how they are. i want the fur to stay on. any help?

soak the hide in bleach for 3 to 5 days depending on the size of the hide.

hey keep salt on the hide sit in sun during the day and bring inside at night take off old salt every week and put new salt on

brain tanning works better look it up online next time the skin will be softer.
