One of my friends has a problem with yotes. These yotes are very skiddish an wont come in to calls or traps set to catch them.It does seem like they like his dogs.Any tips would be helpful.
They probably need to be trapped or just keep hunting with calls. Try a good electric caller. I use this one and it consistently calls them in. amzn.to/SePXQ0
Yea some times their pretty tricky to get. if the dogs are tied out maybe move them a little way from the house and set some (sent free) traps in a half moon pattern out a few yards from the end of where the tied up dogs can go and maybe if the yotes come in they'll be preoccupied with the dogs and make a mistake and hit one of the traps. but keep an ear open in case they don't so you can grab a gun or your friends dogs might get messed up cause you can be sure the yotes aren't coming in to play. " think outside the box " A dead deer or calf w/ traps set in a circle around it may work but you might have to let them get on it first and then sneak in at mid day and set the traps. stake the bait down really, really solid. 4 or 5 pieces of 5/8 re-rod 3 to 4' driven through the carcass works pretty well. (Boil the traps and stakes and handle them w/ rubber gloves and wear rubber boots when ya set them) Post again if ya have any luck.
