If you are looking for a dead reliable, straight shootin .22, I would suggest a ruger 10/22, OR a marlin model 60.
Now before I catch crap from people who have owned model 60s, complaining about how they jam up, I will say this.... if you clean it regularly, and maintain it properly, I beleive a marlin is the way to go.
i have a marlin, it's great! definitely think the 10/22 is the way to go though, easy and cheap to get parts, ruger has amazing customer service and they're deadly accurate... whatever you get, just take care of it, and it will take care of you!
