For my immediate family, we also raise some beef but 2 full deer fill the freezer for the year. If others want some, then that number goes up. I have started grinding it all into ground chuck except for the back strap. I don't do deer steaks etc. Turkey, we usually consume 2 or 3 a year.

So two deer. but that is a lot of venison for a whole, what do you mix in? I'm in FLorida, so once I get all trained up I can get deer, but obviously not elk, antelope, etc? Turkey is doable. I have a long range project based off food hunted for a year.

i mix in beef fat in with my burger and some dales seasoning and pig fat and dales in with the my sausages hope this helps if u need an recipe just get in touch i can hook u up my wife has some good ones

It takes 12 deer a year to feed my family thats just my wife and me and the 4 kids and i dont mix anything use the natural fat of the deer for the burger
