i got a 5 by 5 elk, first one, and im not doing the europen mount. want to do a placque mount. need help please. i want to do this at home and dont have much to spend.
first, you got to get your hands messy clean the skin and outside meat off then you would cut off the part of the lower skull that you don't want to be on the mount. then you clean out the inside of the skull after that is done get a big old pot that the skull can fit in, DO THIS NEXT PART OUTSIDE, cook the skull until the meat falls off easy, use a bit of laundry detergent in the water bath, this will take hours to do and will smell very bad, keep the horns out of the water while doing this. There is some other stuff to do after it is boiled but I have to ask my husband what is left to do.
