Yes I did, One time I was set up in the lower part of a field and the deer were out to around 60 yards from me in the upper part of the field every time I was in my stand ,SO I took two limbs made a cross, stuck it in the ground and hung my extra coat on it and it worked great! the deer all came with in 25 yards of me that night. to bad the buck I was after never showed. Maybe he saw it and just hung back till after dark, I don't know. A friend of mine swears by hanging a smelly old sock in a tree to steer the deer his way.
