New Bow. Need Help Urgent!

Ok so my parents have agreed to let me go bow hunting this year, and I'm good at shooting a bow, but I don't have my own. So they agreed to take me shopping for a bow this week. My question is which bow brand should I get, should I get a compound, what kind of arrows and broad heads should I get, and what kind of sight should I get for my bow? I would really appreciate the help, as I am looking to get this big ol' ten pointer on our land this year.

I'm fairly new to bow hunting myself but from asking around, Matthews seems to be the most popular (I have a Bear myself), I've seen how well the 2-blade Rage broadheads have worked, I like WhiskerBisket for a rest and TruGlo makes decent sights. Like I said I'm still pretty new to archery but this is what I've found out so far. Good luck and good hunting!

Whats your budget I have done tons of research and can help point you in the right direction. I would go with a compound bow and something new within the last few years with parallel limbs. I went with the bear legion and am extremely partial to their products. Since I purchased mine a few months ago my hunting partner shot mine some and was hooked and bought a Bear Mauler. Then I also purchased a Bear apprentice for my lady to use and just ordered a Bear Charge for the Father in Law. They have great ready to hunt packages starting from $299 up to $850 on ebay brand new and they will set them to your draw length and pull weight before they ship. I don't like any of the lower end mathews stuff personally but the mathew Z7 is one of my favorite bows just alittle out of my budget.

Nice, 1500 can go a long way for a bow hunting set up for sure.. My suggestion would be going to a local archery shop and try some bows out. The can set the bow up to fit your draw length and the poundage that is comfortable for you. Just because you have that amount to spend, for sure means you dont have to spend that to get a great bow that will last you for a long time. Like the others mentioned up about you and most of the world have heard about Mathews bows. They spend more money on advertisement then probably all the other makes combined. They are a great bow no doubt but there are lots of other good bows on the market. It being your first bow I would not go to extreme on the bow at all. You need to make sure this is for sure what you want to do. I have had several friends that buy the best one out there and decide they dont like and then have to sell the bow and loose there a$$ on it. My preference to look at would be PSE at first, they make a great bow now and are pretty smooth and fast as well too. I can list them all but I would for sure go down and look at some at a bow shop. You might pay a little more for the set up but you will get the knowledge of the local bow shop and it comes in handy when setting the bow up to fit you. O wow!!! Arrows and broadheads are a never ending subject. I shoot easton axis arrows and love them. They seem to do the job, but just about any arrow out there if set up right will do the job on a well placed shot. Broadheads is kind of the same thing, lots of people shoot mechanical broadheads . I tend to like the mechanicals because of the flight I get out to further distances. Sights for you new bow, this might be a good place for the bow dealer to have you look at some and see what you like best.
The main reason I say to use a dealer is because its mostly hands on with the product you are looking for. If you go to walmart or some other place its a lot harder to find some one with the knowledge these guys have. Most of them have been at it most of there life. I hope this helps some ,,,

PSE all the way. Go to an Archery Shop, they will help you Buy a bow just for you and help you set it up. Best way to go I think. Matthew is a great bow also. You have plenty of Money to get everything you need.

What ever you do be sure that the bow you pick feels comfortable to you in every way, or you will most likely never be happy with it. The same goes for your release. don't let anyone talk you into buying the shortest, fastest, flashiest most popular bow on the market. If it fits you right you should be walking out of there already shooting a pretty good group of arrows. GOOD LUCK

Olivia, you should be looking into a bow with a wide range of adjustments that will allow the bow to grow with you as you get stronger. A great place to start your search is with Mission Archery. The Mission Riot is the most adjustable bow on the market, and has great performance to go with it. It is also well within your budget, and on the lower end of bow prices. It will allow you to adjust draw length and weight over a large span. It is also very light, and smaller in stature, perfect for a female archer. You should definitely go to a pro shop and have them set you up, but if I had to put you in one specific bow, it would be the Riot. With a lower draw weight, and shorter draw length, you'll want to shoot a fixed blade broadhead, preferably one that is cut on contact. I recommend Magnus Stinger 4 blades, or G5 Montecs.

Regardless of which bow you choose, practice, practice, practice. Read everything you can, ask questions and be patient. Even with the best equipment, bow hunting is challenging but rewarding. Follow Zack on HuntDrop. There is so much more information available today than when I was a kid.

I think it may be very convenient. You can easily compare prices in different countries and find your dream hunting. Your opinion is highly needed!
