I don't have anything bad to say about Remington, I grew up on them and they're a great gun. But if you ever plan to do any really high volume shooting (i.e. Argentina) I can't say enough good about Beretta. I have put literally thousands of rounds through a Beretta in a day and seen a Remington nearly melt down. I doub't you'll do that much shooting with a duck gun as it probably will be a 12, but just food for thought.
I would say an 870 is a damn good gun for the money. An 1100 would be my next choice for about twice the money. but if I were to go for broke I would go for a Benelli
