ok, does anybody on here shoot gold tip arrows? and do they hold up like the ads hype says? and im wondering the same of easton arrows. i know eastons hold well ive shot them before. but are the gold tips worth the money?
I also use them for hunting. Probably the most durable shafts I've ever used.Spend a little more and get the better 1's. I shoot the Expedition Hunters.
I have shot gold tip for the last 5 years i still have some of the origional dozen. i have misswd targets and hit rocks only damage was the field point. have shoot deer, armadilow, squirl, and foxes never had a problem. i use the hunter xt
I was on the Gold Tip shooter staff for several years, and I can tell you they are most definitely the toughest arrow on the market. The other advantage they offer is that they retain their straightness better than any other shaft. A huge misconception is that carbon arrows will always be straight, and just isn't true. After so many shots and impacts, carbon arrows will begin to lose their straightness. Gold Tips retain that better than anyone. I love the Velocity XT for hunting.
thanks yall. i just might have to get some of those then. and thats an awsome price, i cant believe just 40 bucks. gamemasters has a set of 12 for about 110$. but from what you guys say i think imma buy me some.
$40 was probably for 6 arrows pre-fletched in a box. Thats about normal. The XT Hunters usually run $80-90/doz fletched. Here's a little industry secret for you as well, and this goes for any arrow. When the shafts are cut to length, cut an inch off the back of the shaft first, then cut to the correct length off the front. The intolerances are at the ends of the shaft, and by cutting off both ends, you have created a shaft that is straighter than advertised for that particular model. This essentially turns an Expedition Hunter into an XT Hunter and an XT Hunter into a Pro Hunter. Obviously it wont work on prefletched shafts, so please don't cut an inch off of them. Bare shafts only. I really shouldn't give out these secrets, but it's your lucky day:)
