I hate when I can't tell what something is on my game camera. Anyone know what this is? Deer, hog, coyote? Looks to wide to be a deer or coyote. Doesn't look like a hog either. No dogs in the area. It's in South Georgia.

Boy that is a tough one. Could be a yote I guess, but the color pattern is unusual. Also could be a dog. Chupacabra maybe.

Theve proven that "Chupracabras" exist but they dont suck blood and they don't have hair, and there mainly down here in Texas, so I'd say its a mix heeler or a yote. but I'm with Bruce did you check for tracks?

I would guess that it is a deer that is shedding it's red summer coat and getting it's brown winter coat. The chupacabra's that they have found in Texas and everywhere else are nothing more than dogs or coyotes that have lost their hair because of mange or some other reason. All DNA tests have proven this.

I'm always checking for tracks. Too many leaves. I couldn't find any.

It is a deer shedding it's summer coat. The rib cage extends past the rest of the body so that excludes the so-called coyote. The hair shedding is like some when I lived in Georgia, color and density. We have the same up here in Iowa too. It isn't a hog, because of the density and makeup of the hair as well as the body shape. If the camera is on a trail, maybe move it so it will offset the trail by 20-30 degrees. You will still get the trail covered, but sometimes avoid these photos. I learned that lesson a few years ago, especially with Moultrie camera's slower trigger speed.
