410 is my favorite gun to use to go small game hunting. Depends on where you live though. I can't hunt with a 22cal. where I live. I do use a 22cal. when going up state Pa.

You don't want to shoot that small of a round in the air. .22 can travel miles and kill someone. 410 or 20 gauge would be best if you are going to be shooting up at anything.

.22 Long Rifle (40 gr RN)
Muzzle Velocity 1255 ft/s
Maximum Range 2000 yard, 1.14 mile
Impact Velocity 300 ft/s

.223 Remington (55 gr SP BT)
Muzzle Velocity 3240 ft/s
Maximum Range 3875 yard, 2.20 mile
Impact Velocity 545 ft/s

Most shotgun rounds go a couple hundred yards to around 1000 yards depending on load and pellet.

the 22 is the best but the 17 hmr is a way faste and flatter gun go with the 17

.410 for birds, .22LR. for everything else. Cheap and effective.

22lr, then when your shootin' up use a .22 CCI shot shell. Has anyone seen those? Only problem is a short range

It all depends on the conditions and game. Rabbits in brush a 410 or 20 gauge would be best. Treed squirrels I would recommend a 20 gauge especially for a little longer shot that a 410 may not quite suffice.Any time you are using a rifle I would not advise taking a shot at an animal in a tree or on top of an hill or bank where you don't know where your round will end up. 22, 22-250, and 223 are great rounds for groundhog, rabbit, coons and other small animals even coyotes. 17 hmr is a great round for any small animal. A rifle is best for sitting game in an open environment. I hope this helps and enjoy some great hunting adventures.

.22 LR is the preferred here in Ireland also for fox as well, all on open ground with back stop to prevent round travelling elsewhere

I think it may be very convenient. You can easily compare prices in different countries and find your dream hunting. Your opinion is highly needed!
